Yesterday, the Chinese manufacturer introduced
several new products to the global market, including its first tablet with Windows. Xiaomi Book S takes inspiration from computers from Microsoft. Its first feature carries a 12.4 “IPS touch screen with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 px promising 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space and above-standard brightness of 500 nits.

A chip is hidden in the bowels Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 with eight arm cores (four Cortex-A76, four A55) and Adreno 680 graphics. It pairs with 8GB RAM (LPDDR4X) and 256GB SSD. Unfortunately, Xiaomi doesn’t even offer higher capacity configurations.
The 294 × 197 × 9 mm tablet weighs only 720 grams. rear camera, front 1080p camera with face scanner, headphone jack, microSD card reader and USB-C for charging, data and monitor connection.
Xiaomi states that The Book S lasts up to 13 hours on a single charge, the manufacturer has added a compact 64W GaN quick charger, it’s a pity that it didn’t add a frequently paired LTE / 5G modem to Snapdragon, but relies only on Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1. .
Book S will start selling during the summer for 699 euros (17,300 CZK). The price is without keyboard and stylus, these will be available separately.
