Square Enix could sell their studios because of unprofitable games on Marvel

Analyst at MST Financial David Gibson named

games by Marvel reason why Square Enix decided to sell part of their studios and IP Embracer Group.

It is reported that in less than two years, the Japanese company has lost 200 million dollars – the reason was two unprofitable projects for Marvel. As a result, among the studios sold were Crystal Dynamics and Eidos-Montreal – the authors “Avengers” and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Gibson also suggested that Square Enix had difficulty managing overseas projects. At the same time, the company will continue to publish part of its other game series like Just Cause and Life is Strange.
