Miners are selling their video cards on Avito

In recent months, cryptocurrency rates have fallen noticeably, while the ruble has grown at the same time. This has led to the fact that mining activities barely pay off the cost of electricity. And now a lot of expensive and rare video cards at low prices enter the secondary market.

As notes Forbes , on Avito you can find thousands of offers for the sale of video cards, including the popular Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 and GeForce RTX 3090. And if for the last one in March they asked for almost 540 thousand rubles, but now its price has fallen to 170 thousand.

According to the interlocutors of the publication, video cards on Avito have fallen in price three times. At the same time, in April, sales of video cards fell by 7% compared to last year, and in May by 3.5%.

This is also due to the transition of the Ethereum blockchain to other algorithms. Because of this, old equipment, including video cards, becomes unprofitable. And “home” miners are trying to get rid of it, while the demand for scarce video cards is still holding on.

Bitcoin has fallen in price by more than 40% since the beginning of May and in June reached its minimum since December 2020. Things are no better for Ethereum, the currency has fallen in price by more than 30%. The total capitalization of the crypto market, according to CoinGecko, dropped below a trillion dollars: back in November she was three times taller.
