Today CEO Solana Labs Anatoly Yakovenko presented in New York a new smartphone Saga based on Android. His team is developing a smartphone specifically designed for web3, already with built-in NFT marketplaces and decentralized exchanges.
This is not so surprising, because Yakovenko comes from Qualcomm, at the presentation he said: “ Almost 7 billion people use smartphones around the world, more than 100 million people own digital assets – and these numbers will continue to grow“.
The phone itself will come with a 6.6-inch display and 512GB of storage, along with crypto encryption. The device is already available for pre-order for a $100 deposit, with a target price of $1,000. Solana Mobile expects to release the phone by early 2023.
In addition to the smartphone, Solana Mobile will offer developers a set of tools for building mobile crypto applications on the Solana blockchain .
